HSCO urges C. Oregonians to help homeless animals at holidays

BEND, Ore. - During this season of giving, remember the homeless, abused and neglected animals in our community. The Humane Society of Central Oregon wants to bring holiday cheer to the homeless animals by inviting the community to an open house on Saturday, Dec. 22  from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Refreshments and goodies will be served for people and their pets. This is the perfect opportunity to visit the shelter for the first time or learn how you can help the animals by volunteering your time or talents.

There are holiday opportunities to help the 3,000 animals cared for by the Humane Society of Central Oregon each year.

Humane Society Wish Trees: Wish Trees are the Humane Society of Central Oregon’s annual drive for donations to meet the needs of 3,000 animals cared for each year. Visit one of HSCO’s wish trees and choose an ornament which lists an item that is needed.  The Wish Trees can be found at:

  • Humane Society of Central Oregon Animal Shelter (61170 SE 27th St, Bend)
  • HSCO Thrift Store (61220 S. Highway 97, Bend)
  • Columbia Bank (1701 NE 3rd St, Bend, OR 97701)

The wish list is also available on-line at hsco.org or by calling 541 382-3537.

Humane Society of Central Oregon Adoption Gift Certificates are available for the pet lover on your list.

A donation in honor of or in memory of a beloved companion animal or person is the purrfect gift.

Humane Society of Central Oregon Thrift Store Gift Cards are available at our Thrift Store (61220 S Highway 97) in Bend. The Thrift Store directly supports the programs and services the shelter provides the animals and people of our community.

The Humane Society of Central Oregon has been caring for the animals and people in our community for 57 years.  The organization is a private, non-profit that is not supported by national or state organizations. The Humane Society of Central Oregon relies on donations by compassionate people and businesses to continue its work on behalf of the animals.  All contributions are tax-deductible.
