Leila Eltouny

Producer/reporter, NewsChannel 21

I like to ask questions, plain and simple.

So once I figured out there was a career founded on curiosity, my path was all but decided!

I graduated from the University of Central Florida, where I earned two degrees: Broadcast Journalism and Spanish Language & Culture. I anchored, produced, reported and weathercasted for our university’s award-winning broadcast, UCF Knightly News. While there, our newsroom had the honor of winning the Associated Press Broadcasters’ Award for “Best College Newscast.”

My senior year, I was able to utilize my Spanish fluency and broadcasting experience to spearhead the first official semester of “UCF Knightly Latino.”  There, I held the role of Executive Producer and Photographer.

Now that I live in the High Desert, I like to joke that I’m from the “Low Swamp.”

I grew up on the gulf coast of Florida, hopping between St. Petersburg and Clearwater. If you’re looking for a beach vacation – those are the places to go!

Aside from an inherent love for sunbathing on the beach, I’m a total foodie! I love to cook new things and I’ll try anything at least once. I’m also an avid reader, trivia nerd, soccer player and animal lover. I even adopted my big, fat cat after meeting him on KTVZ’s Furry Friends segment!

Being a bilingual multimedia journalist is the perfect outlet for my love of languages, travel, and storytelling. I get to serve as the bridge between interesting and compelling stories, and people out there who are just as curious as I am.

I can’t wait to get to know you, and your stories, Central Oregon!
