Local Alert Weather - Mon. PM

Happy New Year's Day, everyone!

I hope 2018 is off to a good start for you and yours!

Central Oregon saw areas of freezing fog today with low clouds. Temperatures struggled to warm under the fog and didn't make it out of the lower 30s. Fog is expected to linger through the overnight into tomorrow. Lows will be in the mid to upper 20s. Winds will be calm and variable.

Tomorrow begins with areas of freezing fog and low clouds especially in low lying elevations and valleys. Highs under the fog will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Frosty conditions are expected. Those in higher elevations like Sunriver and La Pine will see highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

Partly cloudy skies will roll in overnight and we'll see increasing clouds through the week. Once we get to Wednesday night and into Thursday we could see a few light showers. Showers would likely be in the form of freezing rain, so this is something we're keeping a close eye on.

A chance for showers kicks up Thursday and Friday. Freezing rain is expected on Friday as well.
