A Bend hearings officer gave approval Tuesday to the much-debated four-year Westside campus for OSU-Cascades, finding that the 10.4-acre initial undergraduate campus off Southwest Century Drive does or can comply with city rules – if 29 conditions are met; an appeal to the city council is expected.

The controversy surrounding recent racist comments attributed to Clippers owner Donald Sterling not only aren't the first such charges directed at him, but are also hardly the first accusations of racism in the world of sports.

The NBA on Tuesday banned Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life and fined him $2.5 million over racist remarks recorded by his girlfriend. The league will also "begin immediately" to force a sale of the team, Commissioner Adam Silver said. The comments aren't the first controversy over race Sterling has gotten himself into and are also hardly the first example of racism in the world of sports.
