St. John's 65, Columbia 59: D'Angelo Harrison scored 15 points to lead the Red Storm over the Lions in the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival at Barclays Center to notch their third straight win.Orlando Sanchez finished with 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds and JaKarr Sampson added 11 points and three blocks for St. John's (9-3). The Red Storm have now won the last 13 meetings with the Lions in a series that dates back to 1916.Grant Mullins scored a game-high 17 points to lead Columbia (7-6). Alex Rosenberg (13) and Luke Petrasek (12) also scored in double figures for the Lions, who lost despite connecting on 9-of-18 from 3-point range.St. John's trailed just once in the first half, 5-4, after a 3-pointer by Petrasek and led by as many as nine points, 20-11, after a layup by Sampson. But Columbia rallied to tie it at 28-28 on a 3-pointer by Mullins before the Red Storm closed the half with a 9-2 run to take a 37-30 halftime lead.The Red Storm extended its lead to 48-34 on a 3-pointer by Jamal Branch with 14:11 to go.
