The Nashville Predators will look to rebound from a shootout loss against a club which they have dominated over the last two seasons. The Predators will vie for their 10th straight victory over the Colorado Avalanche when they invade the Pepsi Center on Monday afternoon. Nashville has outscored Colorado by a gaudy 34-14 margin during the winning streak.
Captain Shea Weber recorded his 100th career NHL goal and David Legwand also tallied, but the Predators dropped a 3-2 decision to Anaheim on Saturday. Pekka Rinne, who saw his shutout streak end at 155 minutes, 6 seconds, boasts a 10-3-0 career mark versus Colorado. The Avalanche suffered their fourth loss in five games following a 6-4 setback to Northwest Division rival Edmonton on Saturday.

ABOUT THE PREDATORS (7-3-5): Stingy defense is the key for coach Barry Trotz's club. Former Avalanche defenseman Scott Hannan leads the team with 34 blocked shots while Kevin Klein has 30. Weber blocked a game-high five shots versus Anaheim. Martin Erat and Patric Hornqvist have traditionally fared well versus Colorado. Erat has five goals and six assists in his last seven games against the Avalanche, while Hornqvist has collected 13 points in as many contests.
ABOUT THE AVALANCHE (5-7-1): Coach Joe Sacco was left shaking his head after watching Colorado squander a three-goal lead on Saturday. "We got what we deserved (versus Edmonton)," Sacco said. "We gave up close to 60 shots tonight (56), which is something we are obviously not proud of as a group. ... Losing is losing and you are going to lose some games, but not the way that we lost tonight. It was unacceptable." Semyon Varlamov was busy, stopping a career-best 50 shots.
1. Colorado's Matt Duchene, who is riding a three-game goal-scoring streak, also has a seven-game point streak versus Nashville.
2. Nashville C Colin Wilson had an assist on Saturday to extend his point streak to three contests.
3. Avalanche veteran Milan Hejduk had an assist versus Edmonton to extend his point streak to three games.
