New England Patriots wide receiver Austin Collie was released Tuesday and the team signed two players, according to multiple reports.
Collie was signed last month and appeared in four games for the Patriots, catching three passes for 34 yards. He left Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after suffering a knee injury. Collie was originally a fourth-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2009.
The Patriots on Tuesday signed former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver LaQuan Williams to the active roster and former Houston Texans running back Cierre Wood to the practice squad, according to reports.
Williams went undrafted out of Maryland in 2011 and spent two seasons with the Ravens before being released in September. Wood went undrafted this year out of Notre Dame and spent several months with the Texans before being released along with two other players for violating unspecified team rules.
