New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith will wear a mask after suffering a small fracture in his cheekbone during a fall Sunday in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Smith, whose face landed on Thunder forward Kevin Durant's knee, was being fitted for the mask, which he expects to wear for a few games. The Knicks play the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night.

The 28-year-old Smith is averaging 13.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 40 games this season, including 17.6 points in February.

Smith's injury was the latest news to come out of New York on the Knicks. Yahoo! Sports reported that forward Carmelo Anthony will not be traded at the deadline next week. Anthony can opt out of his contract this summer.

Meanwhile, coach Mike Woodson told reporters that he plans to be back with the Knicks next season. New York has struggled to a 20-13 record and one report indicated that Woodson might be out before the trade deadline.

"Again, guys, this is not about me," Woodson said Monday. "Unless you guys know something I don't know, then the only thing I can say is I'm going to be back. Unless you guys know something, I'm the coach of the Knicks and that's all I know at this point."

Woodson said after Sunday's game that he believes the players support him.

"I think so. Again, I'm still coaching the Knicks. That's kind of how I look at it," he said. "If I didn't still have the support, I'd probably be looking for a job. But that's not the case. I think guys are in my corner and I've just got to keep pushing guys and do my job to the best of my ability."

Woodson has heard the rumors, though, and discussed the situation with several players.

"My theme to our players is Woodson's a big boy. He's been around the block a few times," Woodson said. "It's a part of the business if it happens. You can't worry about me. It's never been about me. You've got to worry the makeup of your team and how you're competing on the practice floor and when you take it to the court. That's what counts."

Woodson, 55, has been the Knicks' coach since the 2011-12 season and has compiled a 92-95 record.
