The St. Louis Cardinals activated left-handed pitcher Jaime Garcia from the disabled list Sunday.
Garcia started Sunday against the Atlanta Braves, appearing in a game for the first time in a year. He had surgery for a torn labrum and rotator cuff last May. It was his 100th career appearance.
To make room for Garcia on the 25-man roster, the club optioned right-handed reliever Jorge Rondon to Triple-A Memphis.
Garcia is 39-25 with a 3.45 ERA for his career.
