SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A woman was fatally shot at her home in Silverton on Saturday, and the man suspected of killing her appeared on Sunday at a hospital with serious injuries.

The Statesman Journal reports (http://stjr.nl/1qfzy3q) Sunday that the slain woman was identified as 50-year-old Cassandra K. Wagner. The main suspect was identified as Jason Clifford Down, who Wagner had gotten a restraining order against in July. He was arrested in early August for violating the restraining order.

Police say Down arrived at Silverton Hospital with serious injuries and was transferred to a Portland hospital. Police say they don't yet know how he received his injuries.

Wagner's death was the second homicide on the same block in Silverton this year.
