Redmond firefighters stop pickup fire from spreading

Crews quickly douse blaze east of Terrebonne

TERREBONNE, Ore. - Redmond firefighters quickly knocked down a vehicle fire before it could spread to a field east of Terrebonne, officials said.

Redmond Fire & Rescue crews were called to the 6800 block of Northeast Juniper Ridge Road shortly after 3 p.m., said Battalion Chief Jeff Puller.

Firefighters arrived to find the engine compartment of a full-size Dodge pickup engulfed in flames that were spreading to the cab of the truck, Puller said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, Puller said, adding that there were no injuries. The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
