SORG, SAMUEL CLEVE
PRINEVILLE, Ore. -

A 57-year-old Prineville-area man arrested after a raid on his home earlier this week now faces more than 20 charges involving child pornography, Crook County sheriff's deputies said Thursday.

Sheriff’s detectives executed a search warrant shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday at a home at 14555 SE Gatling Way, south of Prineville, seeking evidence of sexually explicit material involving underage children, said Sgt. James Savage.

Samuel Cleve Sorg was not home at the time of the raid but was later contacted at his Prineville workplace and arrested.

Initially, he was held at the county jail on two counts of displaying obscene materials to a minor, with a total bail of $10,000.

But Savage said the district attorney's office revised the charges Wednesday, based on evidence seized at his home.

Sorg now faces 20 first-degree counts of encouraging child sex abuse, Class B felonies, and one count of endangering the welfare of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor.

Sorg's bail was increased to $50,000, Savage said.
