I-5 bridge collapses in Wash. state

The Interstate 5 bridge over the Skagit River at Mount Vernon collapsed Thursday evening, dumping vehicles and people into the water, the Washington State Patrol said.

The U.S. technically went off the so-called 'fiscal cliff' at midnight on January 1, but a measure passed by the Senate would stop or delay many of its impacts if passed by the House.
