PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Firefighters say they've got a line dug around a fire that began last week in a Southern Oregon logging operation.

The Oregon Department of Forestry estimates the fire on holdings of Jeld-Wen Timber Resources is about 45 percent contained.

It said Monday that operations have turned from bulldozing and hand-digging the line to extinguishing hot spots along the perimeter of the fire.

The fire is burning in an area estimated at about 1,360 acres, or more than 2 square miles.

Authorities haven't said what caused the fire. The Department of Forestry lists the cause as "under investigation."
