A new wildfire spotted Friday afternoon has burned 1,200 to 1,500 acres nine miles south of the Grant County community of Monument, the Oregon Department of Forestry reported.

Fire danger forces outdoor concert to move

The Deschutes National Forest said Friday it canceled the event called “Wedding in the Woods” that organizers planned near Cultus Lake Resort due to extreme fire danger in the area and ongoing public use restrictions. The organizer found a new location in Bend to hold it, officials said later.
