REDMOND, Ore. - The Redmond School District Board of Directors is seeking qualified applicants for a vacancy on the board.
The person filling this appointment will serve from January 8, 2014 through June 30, 2015. The position will replace Lisa Klemp, who was elected to serve the remaining two-year un-served term of Jim Erickson.
The Redmond School District Board of Directors consists of five members elected to serve overlapping four-year terms as non-salaried trustees of the school district. As elected officials, the board is responsible for the scope, depth and quality of education and is the official policy-making body of the school district.
A person is eligible to serve as a board member if he or she is a registered voter of the district and has been a resident within the district for one year immediately preceding the election. No person who is an employee of the district is eligible to serve as a board member while so employed.
Applications will be taken at the District Office located at 145 SW Salmon Street until Friday, November 15 at 5:00 p.m. Interviews will held on December 18. Please contact board executive assistant, Trish Huspek, at 541-923-8247 for more information and an application.
The Redmond School District also is seeking applicants for two vacant positions on the Budget Committee.
The Budget Committee is made up of all five School Board members and five appointed Budget Committee members. Budget Committee members are appointed to serve for a three-year term.
The Budget Committee will begin meeting and deliberating on the 2014-2015 district budget in the spring of 2014. Applications will be accepted at the district office until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013. If necessary, applicants will be interviewed at the November 20, 2013 School Board Meeting. The Budget Committee members will be appointed at the December 18, 2013 school board meeting.
