PRINEVILLE, Ore. - Starting May 1st, the Mosaic Medical and Crook County Health Department campus in Prineville is tobacco-free and will offer patients, visitors and staff smoking cessation assistance during the transition.
The Prineville Mosaic Medical location is the first Mosaic campus to implement a smoke and tobacco free policy with all other Mosaic locations to follow suit within the next year. Tobacco use is the number one cause of preventable death, and is attributable to 64 deaths per year in Crook County!
"We have the obligation to provide a healthy, smoke and tobacco-free environment for our patients, employees and visitors," said Mosaic Prineville Medical Director, Dr. Laura Pennavaria. "This is a great statement about our commitment to a healthy community."
