PORTLAND, Ore. - At the July program meeting, Meyer Memorial Trust's board of trustees awarded a grant worth $12,500 to Sisters Park and Recreation District to support a transportation program to serve children in the Central Oregon community.
The award was made in the Grassroots Grants program, which awards grants up to $40,000, usually to smaller organizations.
The grant brings the total amount awarded in central Oregon since Meyer Memorial Trust began operating in 1982 to more than $20 million.
Meyer Memorial Trust is one of the largest private foundations in Oregon, with assets of approximately $712 million. The Board of Trustees—which includes Debbie Craig, John Emrick, Orcilia Zúñiga Forbes, George Puentes and Charles Willhoite—meets monthly to make grants.
