BEND, Ore. - GIVE TODAY. CHANGE TOMORROW. That's the theme for the 2013/14 Annual Campaign for United Way of Deschutes County.
This year's campaign officially kicked off with more than 100 representatives from dozens of local companies and nearly 30 non-profit agencies in attendance.
Vito DiMaio, Director of Resource Development for United Way, announced that Ryan Killgore, Pacific West Division President for U.S. Bank Community Banking, has been named the volunteer Campaign Chair for United Way of Deschutes County.
Killgore, a United Way supporter for more than 35 years, was inspired to help others when early on he learned how extensive the need was locally.
Announcing the $1.5 million campaign goal, Killgore said, "What we do now determines the future. United Way is here for families who need us because you're here for United Way. By giving today we CAN change tomorrow. Right here. Right now. Right where we live. Each of us has the ability, the compassion, and the courage to do something amazing for our neighbors."
Your efforts and generous support impact one in three Deschutes County residents by strategically investing in 34 local programs that work to directly: help kids get a GREAT START in life, keep YOUTH on TRACK for success, meet BASIC NEEDS of individuals and families, and help keep people SAFE FROM VIOLENCE and ABUSE.
United Way's 2013 Community Campaign runs now through November 27. There are many ways to get involved with the campaign. You can donate through your workplace giving campaign or make direct, personal contributions by mail, online, or by calling the United Way office.
