COOS BAY, Ore. (AP) — A prosecutor says a gunman who shot at five vehicles on an Oregon beach parking lot, killing a Michigan man, later killed himself.

Coos (kooz) County District Attorney Paul Frasier said that investigators have no motive for the shootings, but they have reason to believe that 34-year-old Zachary Brimhall of Douglas may have also "done harm" to his father, whose vehicle was found in another rural area.

Investigators found several firearms in Brimhall's vehicle and called in the Oregon State Police bomb squad after finding bomb-making materials. They have not approached the car belonging to his father, Ray Brimhall, for fear it could also contain explosives.

The victim was identified as 43-year-old David Hortman of Walker, Michigan, who was asleep when he was shot.
