Amanda Gow to lead Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend

Moving from J Bar J Youth Services

BEND, Ore. - After an extensive national search and selection process, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend said Thursday it is excited to announce that Amanda Gow will be the club’s next executive director.

Amanda joins the Club from J Bar J Youth Services in Bend as the director of community programs, overseeing both Big Brothers Big Sisters and Cascade Youth & Family Center. Amanda is a native to Bend, graduating from Bend Senior High. She went on to attend college at the University of Oregon where she obtained a degree in International Business.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend’s Board Chair, Steve Shropshire, said, “after our extensive search yielded a talented group of candidates, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend is incredibly pleased to find Amanda in our own backyard. Her love and commitment to the kids in our community is unsurpassed. She will be the perfect person to further the Club’s mission to deliver life-changing outcomes for our community and its kids."

Amanda has a deep sense of commitment to Central Oregon’s nonprofit sector and has served our community in a multitude of roles including programming, fundraising, executive and leadership levels. Amanda has been a true advocate for the young people in the Bend community and is thrilled to be able to continue in this work by joining the Boys & Girls Club of Bend team.

"I am beyond excited to be a part of an organization with which I have worked side by side and with which I have such a strong connection. The kids in Bend are very lucky to have such an amazing resource, I am so proud to be joining the team," Amanda stated.

Amanda begins her role as Executive Director on Wednesday, September 6th.
