MADRAS, Ore. -

The Mountain View Hospital Foundation has awarded 18 scholarships to local students pursuing degrees in the health care field.

The Foundation offers college scholarships worth up to $1,500 each for new, undergraduate, or continuing education students enrolled fulltime or part time (6 credit hrs.) studying for a health care career. Students must attend an accredited college or university and maintain a 2.5 minimum GPA.

Terah Farrester, George Fox University $500

Joshua Farrester, Oregon State University $500

Brianna Fessler, Madras High School $500

Ivan Galan, Culver High School $500

Beatriz Hernandez, Madras High School $1,000

Kristin Jasa, Madras High School $500

Baylie Johnson, South Wasco County High School $500

Laura Sullivan, Madras High School $500

Christopher Lay, Madras High School $1,500

Georgina Mendoza-Vega, Culver High School $500

Mountain View Hospital Volunteers are instrumental in raising the funds to support the Scholarship Program. Volunteers operate the hospital gift shop and Foundation Thrift Store in downtown Madras. All proceeds benefit the Foundation and health improving endeavors in Jefferson County.
