Meyer Memorial Trust grants announced

At the November program meeting, Meyer Memorial Trust's board of trustees made two grants totaling nearly $57,000 to two organizations in Central Oregon.

The KIDS (Kids Intervention and Diagnostic Service Center) in Bend,was awarded $50,000 to support core operations for this organization that provides assessment and intervention services for children for whom there are concerns of abuse.

The Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council was awarded $6,928 for technical assistance to support community food system work. This grant was one of six that went to support organizations participating in MMT's Community Food Systems special focus program.

These grants bring the total amount awarded since Meyer Memorial Trust began operating in 1982 to more than $19.5 million in Central Oregon.

Meyer Memorial Trust is one of the largest private foundations in Oregon, with assets of approximately $671.5 million. The Board of Trustees — which includes Debbie Craig, John Emrick, Orcilia Zúñiga Forbes, George Puentes and Gerry Pratt — meets monthly to make grants.
