EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Police say someone stabbed a man in the back Saturday morning in downtown Eugene.

The victim was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries from what police describe as multiple stab wounds.

KVAL-TV reports (http://is.gd/6uQW06 ) the suspect was on a bicycle when he attacked the victim. He pedaled away, but was caught by officers at Maurie Jacobs Park, several blocks north of the crime scene.

The stabbing occurred at the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza. A number of witnesses were in the vicinity, attending Eugene Saturday Market.
