La PINE, Ore. -

Deschutes County sheriff?s deputies on Monday identified a La Pine woman struck and killed by a pickup truck early Saturday on Highway 97, and the pickup driver as well, but no other new information as the investigation continues.

Deputies identified the victim as Cynthia Thorpe, 51, of La Pine. The driver of the 2001 Ford F-250 Crew Cab pickup was identified as Timothy Delwisch, 28, also of La Pine.

?The investigation is still ongoing,? a brief update stated, ?but no citations or arrests have been made at this time.?

Deputies responded around 12:01 a.m. Saturday to the report of a pedestrian lying in the roadway between Burgess and Rosland roads, said sheriff?s Lt. Scott Beard.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the La Pine Rural Fire Department, ODOT and the Oregon State Police, Beard said.

The investigation showed Thorpe was crossing the road when she was struck by the northbound pickup. She was dead at the scene, the lieutenant said.

On Saturday, Beard said anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact the sheriff?s office at (541) 693-6911.
