VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — More than 150 people gathered outside a Vancouver hospital Tuesday evening in a vigil for a police officer who was shot seven times.

The vigil on the front lawn of PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center included fellow officers, friends and even people who don't know Officer Dustin Goudschaal.

The 32-year-old was critically wounded in Monday's shooting.

KOIN reports (http://bit.ly/1lz2D36 ) one of the people at the vigil was former volunteer firefighter James Bridger, who was one of the two good Samaritans who stopped to help Goudschaal.

Bridger radioed dispatchers that the officer had been shot.
