PRINEVILLE, Ore. -

A Crook County Search and Rescue dog team was back searching an area about 12 miles southeast of Prineville Tuesday for a man who disappeared late last month and has not contacted family since.

Robert Alan Bucknell, 55, has not been heard from since March 28, said Undersheriff John Gautney.

His tan 1989 Jeep Cherokee was found on nearby private property, but there was no sign of him, Gautney said.

Sheriff?s deputies impounded the Jeep and contacted family members to try to determine what might have happened to him.

Last week, the Search and Rescue dog team searched the area off Juniper Canyon Road near Art?s Place, without success. They were back in the area Tuesday, conducting a grid search, Gautney said.

?At this time, foul play is not suspected,? Gautney said in Tuesday?s news release, but ?the sheriff?s office is conducting this investigation as a missing person and examining all possibilities.?

Bucknell is described as 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts or who has had contact with Bucknell over the past couple of weeks is asked to immediately contact the sheriff?s office at (541) 447-6398.
