SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Some people in Oregon can now enroll in health insurance online through Oregon's health insurance exchange.
More than four months after it was supposed to launch, Cover Oregon on Tuesday rolled out its online enrollment system to insurance agents and community organizations.
Spokesman Michael Cox says most people, those with less complicated situations, will be able to fill out an application and enroll in one sitting. People with more complex applications will have to return to the website after Cover Oregon staff process part of it by hand.
There's no date for launching the enrollment system to the general public. Cover Oregon's website lists insurance agents and community groups certified to use the new online enrollment system. Individuals or families working alone can still submit applications online that will be processed by hand.
