10 brushfires ignite beside Hwy. 97 S. of Bend

Ten brushfires broke out within minutes and miles of each other on the east side of Highway 97 south of Bend late Tuesday afternoon, sending police and fire crews scrambling to get them out; investigators say pieces of a motor home's failed catalytic converter sparked all of the blazes.
