NE Bend assault leads to stabbing, 3 arrests

Police said Saturday they had sorted out a Friday night altercation in which two people were stabbed and another punched in the face and head. Three Bend men were arrested on assault and menacing charges – but police say another man stabbed two suspects, defending his family from an unprovoked assault.

The aftermath of a domestic dispute at a southeast Bend home led to concerns of a possible kidnapping, standoff and call-out of the region’s SWAT team early Saturday. But officers said crisis negotiators convinced two Bend residents to come out, and both were arrested.
