Makayla Zurn wakes you up with a smile on NewsChannel 21 at Sunrise from 5-7 AM every weekday.  She also reports for several newscasts on both KTVZ and KFXO.   

Makayla began working for NewsChannel 21 in the fall of 2005 as the weekend anchor.  Through the years, she has reported on the stories that really matter to Central Oregonians, including the trial of Crook County Sheriff Rod Clark and a puppy mill bust where nearly 200 dogs were recovered. She also has reported from the fire lines on some of the region's biggest wildfires.

Makayla grew up in Port Orchard, Wash., and attended Washington State University, where she graduated with a degree in broadcast news from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication.

She loves rooting for the Cougs and any team that is playing the Washington Huskies.

Makayla enjoys everything Bend has to offer, especially the great powder at Mount Bachelor, being an avid skier.  In her spare time you can find Makayla walking her dog Beau, the most athletic Maltipoo you've ever seen.
