It’s been a wonderful journey so far, and it has led to the best job of my life right here in the Northwest!
I grew up a Connecticut boy, shipping up to Boston to study broadcast journalism at Suffolk University. Between a handful of internships in Boston, Las Vegas and South Korea, and my parents both working in the airline industry, I’ve been able to put as much ink in my passport as my notepad! So you can take my word for it when I say Bend has the best beer in the world!
About a week after graduating from Suffolk University, I joined KTVZ / KFXO as a nightside reporter in June of 2014. Two months later, I moved to the weekend anchor position, reporting three days a week. In March of 2015, I became the evening anchor for NewsChannel 21 at 5, 6, 10 & 11.
My parents are my inspiration for everything I do. My father taught me that if you’re not doing what you love, you’re simply not living.
But truly my world changed in October of 2014, when my mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Supporting her battle from 3,000 miles away has been challenging. But her refusal to quit on her two boys, one on an Air Force base in Oklahoma, the other at an anchor desk in Oregon, motivates me in every moment of every day.
In my spare time, I love to bike / run, and I’m never too far from an Xbox controller! I also take singing lessons at the Cascade School of Music. I’m an avid Red Sox, Patriots (sorry), Bruins, and Celtics fan, and on a bizarre note, I really love penguins!
But above all, I love what I do. I get to live my dream every day, telling your stories with the help of an incredibly gifted team of journalists at Central Oregon’s News Leader!
