Co-Anchor/Reporter, NewsChannel 21 at Five and Six
It's easy to say, I am a true Oregonian who loves the seasons. I grew up in Gresham, went to school in Eugene and now live in Bend, where I feel most at home. Even though I've moved around the state a bit, one thing has remained the same -- my love for journalism.
I caught the news reporting bug years ago, and since then, I've been preparing for a life and career in the newsroom and out in the field.
In March of 2010, I graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in communication studies. As a student, I reported, anchored and produced for campus television shows Duck U and Oregon News.
My love for the career also grew while interning with KATU's AM Northwest in Portland and The Travel Channel while studying abroad in London.
After graduating, the job search began, and that's what landed me here at KTVZ. In October of 2010, I joined the NewsChannel 21 team as a reporter and weekend co-anchor.
After about a year, I was asked to join the NewsChannel 21 at Sunrise team as the co-anchor alongside Matt McDonald -- and then Co-Anchor Renee Nelson.
Believe it or not, I am a great morning person, so it’s not the getting up early that's hard -- it's the going to bed when the sun is still out that makes my love for blackout shades that much deeper.
When I'm not reporting or in the newsroom, I love watching sports (Go Ducks!), trying different foods, reading and exploring the outdoors; rain, snow or sunshine.
I am living my dream, one day at a time and happy to call Central Oregon my home.
