I joined the NewsChannel 21 team as a reporter in December 2015. Born and raised in San Jose, I consider myself the quintessential laid-back Californian. Although I was never one of those kids who knew what I wanted to be “when I grew up,” I’ve always known I wouldn’t settle for anything boring and couldn’t have a job that was the same day after day.
For college, I enrolled in San Jose State, where I remained undeclared until stumbling upon a broadcast journalism class. I was hooked.
During my time at SJSU, I anchored and reported for the college newscast Update News, interned at Cal-Hi Sports Bay Area and was lucky enough to study abroad twice, once in London and again in Sweden.
After graduating with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, I needed a change of pace. So I packed up my things and headed southwest to Albuquerque before eventually working my way back to The Bay.
Throughout this time, I served and bartended. The service industry has been a big part of my life. In fact, it's the only thing I've ever done besides KTVZ!
Although my journeys took me other places after graduating, I never gave up the dream of becoming a reporter. After reaching a crossroads in my life, I chose to get back in school and work toward making my dreams a reality.
I joined another college newscast, Ohlone Network News, in Fremont, California and that decision led me here!
I value living in different places and experiencing new things, and that’s why I’m so excited for this opportunity to live and work in beautiful Central Oregon!
