Seeing how they're basically BFFs now, it follows that President Barack Obama and Jay-Z would get around to talking about personal stuff, like their kids.
As Obama pointed out at a recent fundraiser Jay and his wife Beyonce held for the president at Jay's 40/40 Club in New York, the two men actually have a few things in common. Both of them are married to women who are more popular than they are, Obama said, and both men are also fathers of girls.
And so, during a recent radio interview with Cleveland station Z107.9, via the Huffington Post, Obama noted that he's given his pal Jay a few words of parenting wisdom.
"I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyonce out with the baby," Obama said, referring to the couple's daughter, Blue Ivy. "And not leaving it all to mom and the mother-in-law."
If that seems a little forward, well, they are pretty close, the president continued.
"I've gotten to know these guys over the last several years. ... They're good people," he said. "Beyonce could not be sweeter to Michelle and the girls. So they're good friends. ... They're down-to-earth. We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends."
