ALBANY, Ore. (AP) - A man whose behavior at an Albany business prompted his arrest remained in the Linn County Jail on Wednesday.
David Wayne Kelley of Bend was charged with trespass, menacing and disorderly conduct. He refused a court-appointed attorney at his arraignment. Bond was set at $25,000 and his case was continued until Dec. 7.
Police say the 36-year-old exhibited erratic behavior Monday after walking into Larsell Mechanical Service, which is not a retail business. Co-owner Mary Larsell says Kelley yelled about al-Qaida and said "you're all dead."
Larsell thinks Kelley was armed, but police found no weapon when they arrested him in the general vicinity a half-hour later.
Hours before Monday's incident, Kelley had been booked at the county jail on a warrant for second-degree theft. The jail then released him to appear in court Dec. 14.
