C.O. artists show off 'fibers' at Sisters show

Fiber Arts Stroll kicks off Quilt Show week

C. Oregonian artists show off 'fiber' crafts

SISTERS, Ore. -  A few dozen artists from around Central Oregon showed off artwork and held demonstrations in Sisters on Sunday.

It was the 10th annual Fiber Arts Stroll through downtown, one of the first events each summer to kick off the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show.

Artists set up booths and displays inside and outside of businesses where they showed people how to knit, rug-hook, spin yarn and much more.

Sisters Quilt Show Event Director Tammy Ambrose said there was more than 30 artists sprinkled around the streets and businesses.

Ambrose said the purpose of the stroll is to connect the artists with the people who buy and enjoy their products.

"We're actually encouraging those that are in attendance to actually participate and learn more about the craft, and hopefully maybe create future fiber artists," Ambrose said.

The Sisters Outdoor Quilt show is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
