How to drain your irrigation system

As the temperatures drop, it’s important to take proper precautions to winterize your irrigation system to prevent freezing and bursting over the cold-weather months.

One way to winterize your system is the manual drain valve method.

To do this, the first thing you need to do is turn off the sprinkler’s main shut-off valve.

Next, open one of the control valves in the sprinkler system to relieve pressure on the sprinkler system’s mainline.

Then slowly open the manual drain valve.

Repeat this for all of the valves
