Hospital won't confirm, deny

ABC News and People Magazine reported Thursday that Thomas Beatie, the Bend resident and transgender man whose pregnancy drew international headlines, gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
A source told the network that the birth at St. Charles Medical Center-Bend was natural, and denied a report at TMZ.com that the birth was by caesarean section. The magazine said the birth occurred last Sunday.
The baby girl is "really cute, really pretty," the source told ABC News.
Nobody at the hospital could confirm or deny the reports, citing patient confidentiality, but TMZ.com reported Beatie checked in under a fake name and was provided special privacy.
Beatie, 34, was born a woman but had his breasts surgically removed and legally changed his gender from female to male. He told his story with wife Nancy on Oprah in April.
Despite years of taking hormones and living outwardly as a man, Beatie said he retained his female sex organs because he intended to get pregnant one day.
