ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating the drowning death of a 10-month-old Canyonville girl.

Spokesman Dwes Hutson says detectives were told the girl and her 3-year-old brother were left unattended in a bathtub for a few minutes Friday. The boy alerted his parents that the girl was unresponsive, and the mother called 9-1-1 and started performing CPR.

Hutson says an attempt to revive the child at Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg failed.
