Associated Press - November 21, 2009 10:15 PM ET

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) - A Hillsboro man has died after what appears to be a road rage shooting. Police say they have killed the gunman.

Police identified the Hillsboro man as 56-year-old Danny K. Le Gore.

They say he was wounded Saturday after what they described as "a traffic altercation" involving two vehicles. He died at the hospital.

He was described as a passenger in 1 of the vehicles.

Police say the driver of the other fired at least six rounds into the Le Gore vehicle.

Police say they chased the driver to neighboring Cornelius, where he crashed and fired at them before their return fire killed him.

Hillsboro police say they have no explanation yet for the shooting, and Le Gore had no apparent connection to the driver.
