Reporter, NewsChannel 21
I was born in Pendleton, Oregon. I was first introduced to journalism by daily watching the television news with my family and emulating the anchors by playing with my toy action figures.
When my family and I moved from Pendleton to Keizer, I attended McNary High School during my sophomore year. I was very fortunate to attend this high school that has a student television news program. I anchored that program and really enjoyed my experience.
After high school, I decided to pursue a broadcasting degree at the University of Oregon. That is where my love for journalism grew stronger. I graduated in June 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Communication Studies.
During my time in college I interned at KVAL, a local television station in Eugene. I followed reporters and assisted them in writing and interviewing sources for their stories.
Those experiences led me to a job as a reporter/anchor/producer for KTVZ in August 2010. I have always dreamed of being in the broadcasting field. This experience has given me an opportunity to report on a variety of stories from politics to community events.
When I’m not working, I enjoy watching sports (especially Oregon Ducks athletics), reading, listening to music, meeting new people and spending time with family and friends.
I thank the Central Oregon community for welcoming me into their lives, allowing me to explore new avenues and giving me the opportunity to call Central Oregon home.
