Reporter/producer, NewsChannel 21
After 21 years in the Northeast, my journalism journey begins in the Northwest!
I was born and raised in New Milford, Connecticut. That’s New York sports territory, but my Dad’s Boston roots had my rooting for the Beantown teams religiously.
That love for sports gave birth to a love in journalism. I needed to know who was starting on the mound, in net, and at center at all times. That desire to be informed then grew into a desire TO inform, and one I’ve tried to do ever since.
I shipped up to Boston to study broadcast journalism at Suffolk University, which gave me the opportunity to grow as a journalist at internships around the world! My first was with CNBC-Asia in Seoul, South Korea in the summer of 2012. That fall, I was back in Boston as a sports intern with local TV news station WHDH.
In the summer of 2013, I worked with New England Cable News as a student reporter, going live from the streets of Boston for a morning show segment called “Suffolk in the City.” And this past spring, I spent a week in Las Vegas as a reporter for Waskul.TV during the National Association of Broadcasters show.
The more I’ve traveled, the more I’ve realized the importance of knowing your audience. The difference between delivering stories in the morning versus night, reporting on sports news versus finance news, or writing for Korean audiences vs. broadcast junkies in Vegas can drastically change your story, and how you deliver it.
So I’m very excited to get to know YOU, Central Oregon! If you have a story idea, advice, or just want to find out how my Boston teams are doing, email me at email@example.com
