Four brushfires ignite beside Hwy. 97 S. of Bend

Four small brushfires broke out within minutes of each other on the east side of Highway 97 south of Bend late Tuesday afternoon, sending police and fire crews scrambling to get them out; investigators say a motor home's failed exhaust lost hot pieces of a catalytic converter, apparently sparking the blazes.
